Rain

Today, I realized how much of a blessing rain is.

I grew up in the Philippines where our days are either rainy or sunny. We don't really look forward to rainy days because rain brought flood.

It wasn't really until I am all grown up and have become a homeowner with a yard that I realize how much easier rainy days are because I can skip watering the lawn and our vegetable garden. my days are when it rains because it means I can skip watering the lawn and our vegetable garden.

I feel you. I now live in California, where in my 20+ years of living here, I've seen more drought years than not so I really appreciate when rain appears.

I am very glad to have found your blog again.

When I visited my aunt in LA early this year, I felt sad when I saw her backyard. Most plants were dead, she used to have so much lemon that her granddaughters would sell lemonade during summer. Sabi nya they're not allowed to turn on the sprinkler because of water shortage daw.

@Photo Cache, @Jacqueline -My sister lives in California too so I definitely know what you both mean!

In her house, most of her yard is covered in succulents, desert plants talaga and I don't even remember her having a patch of grass anywhere.
