When friends don't LIKE you anymore...

I've noticed recently that some friends have not been LIKE-ing my posts on FB.

I know it's not mandatory but since I think it's a way to say "hey, I saw this pic and I think it's nice that you were able to do this" quickly. And when I don't see that, I get the feeling that it is deliberate and that they are sending a message. After all, it doesn't take a lot to click that little thumbs up button.

Have I offended or frustrated them in any way? Granted, we haven't really been as close lately as we were before and don't spend much time together, but I do see them LIKE-ing posts of other friends who are much farther away so distance / spending time together must not be a factor.

In any case, as sad as I am with the message they are sending me, there is really no sense in wondering (who knows how & what they are thinking ?) and I just have to move on. After all, why force someone to like me/us ? Eh kung di nila ako like, edi hindi. What am I to do ?

Over the years, I've seen people cull their friends - some do that to get rid of toxic people in their lives, some just don't have time for people they consider acquaintances (and not friends) - so maybe I am being culled.

Sad, matagal rin ang pinagsamahan namin.

Anyway, kung hindi na nila ako gusto maging friend okay lang, Pero I'll always be here with my heart & hand waiting in friendship.

Sana lang malaman ko what I have done to cause them to boycott me.

I realized just recently that I was holding on to friendships that didn't want to be held. And so I decided to just let go and leave it as it is. I got tired of being the one who reaches out and making kamusta friends. I figured if they wanted to connect, they would do what I have been doing. But the sad truth is - they're not. So what was I to do? I let them go. I left things as they are - no communication whatsoever. I see their posts on FB with their other friends - at first there was a pang of hurt, but now - I don't know. NR. They will reach out if they want to. I was told by a friend nga eh, if they haven't been reaching out - they're not interested - less people to *entertain*.

Also I realized that in FB - it's always an announcement of sort. Where you are, what you are doing, who you are with. I felt that certain friends were imposing - to view and to look at their activities, I felt that I didn't want people to feel that way. Baka kasi may magsabi ng *hindi ako interesado makita si ganito ganyan in this and that place* so I don't post, unless important to to thank people. Hahaha!!

Tumatanda na ako. Napapagod na ako. Hahahaha!!!

Hi Didi!

When you mentioned "friendships that don't want to be held", napaisip ako if this is the case with me & my friends, inisip ko rin if we've outgrown each other but I don't really know the answer. Wait and see na lang :)

May point ka about FB being an announcement of sorts. I sort of feel that way too and even joke with hubby about how some friends post every single thought/action na kulang na lang pati utot (haha!) i po post pa. With that in mind, I do try to limit mine and I think I average no more than 10 posts per year. Hence, my mini-tampo, konti na lang post ko, hindi pa nila ni LIKE --> after reading this sentence, na realize ko that technically, I am waiting for their approval when I really shouldn't, no ?

Anyway, thanks for coming by and taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate the feedback :)
